Seeing God on my Visit to Costco
Leaning against the table
I looked upon the sea of humans
Tall and short young and old
Smiles and frowns
Giggling girls and bouncing boys
tiring
Mothers and fathers
Hungry for a moment of peace
hungry for a Costco hotdog
I saw each person
The blond, bearded and the bald
And before each and every person
An angel carrying a torch
Announced as it walked
“Behold, the image of God.”
And I beheld
Seeing with new eyes
