God Is

God Is

The color of Water”
Said Mrs. McBride to
Her son James

Water is the color of
Spirit in Baptism
The color of purity
The color of God
Neither male nor female

And yet
Having features of both
Compassion and gentleness
As well as strength and leadership
Humble and intuitive
And assertive and courageous
We know humans who
Exemplify all these qualities
And show us
God
As one of us
