Oil Exploration in Poole Bay
Here comes the oil-rig dragon
breathing filth and death,
urinating toxic streams of waste.
Violating the seabed, his pipe plunges deep,
ejaculating eight tons of biocide and
seven thousand tons of chemicals.
Beneath the curdled waves nearby,
short-snouted sea horses,
rare as Buddhist plutocrats,
are gently courting side by side.
A mirror dance of quiet give and take:
fathers who nurture the next generation.
