Food Chain

A mosquito draws blood from my temple without me noticing until I walk indoors. She lifts off to digest her red bulge and flies into the web threaded by the cellar spider I let live in the ceiling corner. The spider grows larger from a rich dose of iron, proteins— mosquito and poet, type O, a delicious silk wrapped meal.
